Cobo Osteopaths
We have Dimi Argyros and Elisabeth Winzenried who are Osteopaths. Dimi works at Cobo most of the time
but she also does one session a week at St Martins Health Centre. Elisabeth
works at both Cobo and Rohais Health Centres. You are very welcome to see either
of them.
Dimi Argyros
was educated in Australia. After a year of doing a science degree, she
transferred to the five year Osteopathy course. She was attracted to this on
account of the hands on and holistic approach. After graduating she worked in
private practice in Melbourne and also worked as a clinical supervisor at both
of the Osteopathic Collages in Melbourne. She has always had a keen interest in
paediatric osteopathy and, as an active sports person, the treatment of sports
injuries. In order to pursue this further, she undertook a graduate diploma in
Paediatric Osteopathy in 1998. She also worked as part of the Australian
Paralympics medical team for several years. While involved in this, she went to
numerous international events, including the Asian games in Thailand in 1999 and
the Sydney Paralympics Games in 2000.
She moved to Guernsey in 2001, and has continued to see
patients of all ages. She has also developed a particular interest in the
effects of posture and ergonomics on musculoskeletal complaints in both adults
and children. She will therefore often suggest exercise and ergonomic changes to
help alleviate symptoms and minimise re-aggravation. This all ties in well with
the whole Osteopathic approach of trying to recognise and treat the cause of a
condition and subsequently helping to alleviate the symptoms.
Elisabeth
Winzenried was born and brought up in Switzerland. She trained as an
Osteopath in France and England and graduated from the European School of
Osteopathy in Maidstone, Kent. After working in Switzerland she moved to
Guernsey in September 2005 to work for the Healthcare Group. Elisabeth holds
consultations at both the Rohais and Cobo surgeries. She treats patients with
various back and joint problems and also uses Cranial Osteopathy, treating
babies and children. In her spare time she enjoys cycling, long cliff walks and
sailing.
